Ethical guidelines
AN EQ THERAPIST EDUCADED FROM EQ-INSTITUTE AS DO AN OATH TO DO ONES BEST TO LIFE THESE ETHICAL GUIDELINES
1. Have a non-judgemental way of viewing people, which means wishing oneself and others all good -to want everything good for oneself and others -out form the conviction that; everyone does their best at any time form their own preconditions.
2. Looking at inappropriate behaviour as a symptom. Meet an inappropriate behaviour with wonder and a “wish” to understand the underlying cause. 
3. Have the courage to be honest and thereby vulnerable/ in a loving way in one’s encounter med others.
4. Acknowledge that every emotion is right for the person that owns the emotion. Take responsibility for meeting all emotions with respect by acknowledge them looking after them in a good way. Be conscious about one’s own feelings that evokes in meeting with others is about oneself/memories form ones owns life. 
5. Meeting children in an equal value, but not “equal in responsibility” (equal in value, but not the same responsibility and fitted to take charge), by taking the lead as an adult. Meet adults in an “equal In value” and “equal in responsibility” way by letting adults take the responsibility over their own lives.
6. Using personal language by talking out form oneself, taking care of personal boundaries and needs by standing one’s ground// and use the word; I want/I do not want/I do not know what I want/yes and no. using the “question-words” what? And how? And also, express one own and others’ emotions when it feels natural.
7. Strive to be professional by expressing and being open and honest about one’s own emotions, boundaries and needs when its timely.
8. Take responsibility for speech. Take responsibility for one’s own statements and actions and mainly talk to and with others and not about others. 
9. Listening attentively and try to one’s own best ability to understand the other person by asking clarifying what and how questions. 
10. Respect the duty of confidentiality also in any retelling of stories of EQ-therapies and other sensitive information. 

I tillegg forplikter a EQ-therapist educated from EQ institute til å varsle the police or barenvernstjenesten to avverge harm on person/s and follow opplysningplikten,ref law of barneverstjenester 6-4, that states duty to melde fra to braneverstjeneseten if concern about children or youth lives in conditions that can harm their health or development. Meldteplikten gjelder without consideration to taushetspliken.
